Vidan
Vidan was born in Perugia, a small medieval town nestled between Rome
and Florence.
In his youth, he was influenced by the works of art of Italian
renaissance all around him, thus realizing his passion for the arts.
His art education was pursued with zeal, attending some of the finest
art school in Italy, to include the Liceo Artistico di Milano and later
Accademia delle belle arti di Brera, studying anatomy and figure
drawing, among other subjects.
Vidan moved to the U.S. in 1988 to study under his uncle and mentor, renowned artist Pino, who introduced him to the classical European
painters, such as John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla ,Anders Zorn.
After working as an illustrator for book covers for all the major
publishers until early 2000's, Vidan began his full time fine art career.
Vidan's painting style relies heavily on light and shadow, and his
brushwork technique tries to convey the sensuality and the dreamlike
quality of the feminine form, the main focus of his work.
